Research Interests & Expertise

Dr. Himanshu Dubey is a molecular biologist and bioinformatician specializing in genomics and transcriptomics. He initiated his research career on genomics at the ICAR-National Institute for Plant Biotechnology (NIPB), New Delhi, focusing on fungal pathogens. Currently at Central Silk Board, his work centers on silkworm and host plant genomics to generate foundational genomic and transcriptomic resources for functional sericulture genomics.

Comparative & Structural Genomics

Deciphering genetic architecture of wild & domesticated silkworms, domestication pressures, and molecular immune pathway analysis.

Transcriptomics & Host-Pathogen

High-throughput RNA-Seq to elucidate transcriptional response of golden muga silkworm (Antheraea assamensis) to viral pathogens.

Molecular Marker Development

Leveraging genomic resources to develop SSRs and SNPs for marker-assisted selection (MAS) and breed improvement.
