Research Portfolio & Focus

Dr. G. Subrahmanyam has a multidisciplinary research portfolio focused on seri-biotechnology, molecular pathology, insect virology, and genome editing. His work centers on molecular characterization of silkworm viruses (CPV, baculovirus, iflavirus), point-of-care (PoC) diagnostic kit development, gut bacteriomes, and silk by-product value addition.

Molecular Virology & Pathology

Research on silkworm CPV, baculoviruses, iflaviruses, host-pathogen dynamics, and point-of-care (PoC) diagnostic tool development.

Microbiology & Diagnostics

PCR-based diagnostics, gut microbiota, and probiotic applications for enhancing silkworm health.

Silk By-Products & Bioeconomy

Engineered sericin/fibroin biomaterials for biomedical, cosmetic, and circular bioeconomy applications.
