Who We Are
Advancing Sericulture Through Science and Innovation
30 +
Years ofExperience
The Institute for Seri Biotechnological Research (ISBR), Bengaluru, is a premier national research institute under the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Established in 1993, as the Seri-Biotech Research Laboratory (SBRL), the ISBR pioneers innovative biotechnological solutions for the silk sector while addressing complex biological challenges. Today, the institute is expanding the frontiers of silk research, transforming silk into an advanced material for emerging technological and industrial applications.
